Elizabeth Jane Hurley, an English actress and model who was known in the 90s as Hugh Grant's girlfriend, is the former English model. As Hugh Grant's movie Four Weddings and a Funeral became the subject of global media attention, Hurley accompanied Grant to its Los Angeles premiere wearing a black Versace dress with gold safety-pins. The dress instantly earned the attention of media. Hurley has enjoyed a thriving career, but her relationship to Estee Lauder cosmetics is the most notable. It offered Hurley her modeling opportunity when she was just 29 and has employed as models for their products, particularly perfumes like Sensuous Intuition and Pleasures from 1995. Vanessa Kensington was her most popular role as a character in Mike Myers hit spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me(1999). She made a greater splash several months later with the single "I Kissed a Girl an assertive ode to the fascination of sexuality accompanied by a rough electronic-pop beat. The song quickly stirred controversy as some critics derided the song for encouraging sexual relations between gays and lesbians and others charged that the racy scenario that it depicted was a sly way to appeal to the fantasies of males about sexuality among females. I Kissed a Girl became an international number-one single due to its combination of titillation with a polished melody. It also helped her sell more albums, such as the album One of the Boys. The album's 2nd single Hot N Cold also proving popular the album much of that Perry composed herself, eventually saw greater than three million copies in the United States.
